How to win at Online Bingo

The first thing that comes to mind at the mention of the word ‘bingo’ is often a bingo hall packed with older people. However, this image of bingo is not always accurate, as nowadays it has become a popular hobby for many people, including those younger in age. Online bingo makes it accessible for everyone, as they can play the game at any time, within a few minutes, and anywhere they want to as long as they have internet access. Many online bingo games offer the chance to win large sums of money. So how do you increase your chances of winning?

First, timing is crucial. At busy peak times, there will be more players, therefore reducing the chances of winning. For the best chances of success, it is best to play during the day, preferably in the week, when many players will be at work.

Second, it is a good idea to play with more than one card of numbers at the same time. It can be difficult for a player to keep track of numbers when they have too many cards; however, some online bingo games automatically mark numbers as they are called, which prevents this problem. An ideal number of cards is four or five.

Finally, to maximise winnings it is important not to spend too much money and every player should have a figure in mind before they start playing of what they will spend that day, and once they have spent it they should not go over it. After this, they can continue to play free bingo for fun if they have not yet had enough of the game.

Find the Best Prices for the Gold Cup

The Gold Cup is the race that steeplechase fans await with keen anticipation. In 2012, there is heightened expectation about the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Kauto Star, a Gold Cup winner in 2007 and 2009, has returned to form in spectacular style and he is expected to put up a bold challenge to last year’s winner, Long Run. If Kauto Star is victorious, it will be among the sporting highlights of the year.

It is certain that Cheltenham Gold Cup betting will be one of the biggest betting events of the year in the UK. This offers opportunities for astute gamblers. Bookmakers and online betting sites, competing for a share of the millions that will be staked on this race, will be inclined to offer attractive odds or bonuses to give them the edge on the competition.

Those who are interested in betting on the Gold Cup will follow the ante-post odds with keen interest. It can often be profitable to take the early odds on offer, rather than wait until race-day, when large amounts of money staked on the course will make the starting price shorter.

As an example, at the start of the year, Cheltenham Gold Cup betting odds offered Long Run at 11-4 and Kauto Star around 4-1. As the race gets closer, rumours, training reports, gossip and jockey injuries could affect the price. Those who want to support the Cheltenham hero Kauto Star might be advised to bet early, as sentimental bets on the day could even see him starting as favourite.

How to Pick an Online Casino

With so much choice out there, finding a reputable and high quality online casino devoted to fair play and featuring cutting edge and innovative games can prove a challenge.

International Community

An online gambling site should welcome guests from all over the world and should trade in a number of different currencies.  888games, for example, boasts winners from around the globe and has adopted a variety of options for depositing and withdrawing funds.

Variety of Games

A great online casino will offer a wide variety of games, ranging from various types of poker, live sports betting and live video slots to scratch cards, keno and bingo.  Innovative games and live options ensure that the site is much more appealing to users.  888games offers many different gaming options.

Licensing and Auditing

To ensure fair play, an online gambling site must be licensed and audited.  For example, 888games is licensed by Gibraltar and uses random number generators to ensure fairness in all of its games.  It is subject to third party checks by eCOGRA, the e-Commerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance organisation.  In addition, gaming sites often create their own software to avoid duplication and to protect the integrity of its games.

Customer Support and Online Assistance

Customer support is of crucial importance in a gaming site.  Customer support is essential in providing timely and accurate withdrawals and deposits for players.  Online assistance for games, including tutorials and rules, should be made available to all players.

Secure Transactions

The site should be marked secure and encrypted to ensure no interception in its transactions.  Sites, such as 888games, are completely safe and secure; Intersafe Global Limited, one of the leading online transaction providers, handles 888games’ credit card transactions.

Online Reviews

If the casino is truly great, others will be raving about it in online reviews.

Poker Tournaments

Online poker sites offer a variety of games to suit your needs.

To participate in a Sit ‘n’ Go single table game the poker player can pick the next available event from the list.  When the table has eight players the game can begin and is played to a finish.  This is one of the easiest ways to enjoy a game.

Multi-table tournaments will have a scheduled start.  Participants will be required to play through a few tables before reaching the final table where the main prize will be awarded to the winner.  Satellite events are staged as qualifiers for the bigger multi-table events.  Shootout tournaments are similar but are usually shorter and players can win a share of the prize money with every round that is won.

Heads-up matches are a face-off between two players.  Tournaments work on a knockout basis with the final match deciding the winner a bit like a football cup competition.

The range of tournament options means that anyone should be able to find a poker game to suit their lifestyle and preference on an online poker site.

Playing Texas Hold ‘em Poker

There are many versions of poker, with varying levels of popularity. One of the most popular versions, is Texas Hold ‘em Poker, very commonly played in homes as well as in casinos. Like other versions  however, Texas Hold ‘em Poker has its own set of rules.

At the beginning of the game, blind bets are made. There are two blinds made – the small blind and the big blind. The small blind is made by the player directly to the dealer’s left, while the big blind is made by the player two places left of the dealer. After that, players are dealt two cards face down.

Following that, the action starts. Players can choose to raise, bet or fold as the action proceeds in a clockwise direction. When all players have finished betting, the betting round then concludes.

Once the betting round is finished, three cards are dealt in the centre of the table face up. These cards are known as communal cards, as any player may use these cards in conjunction with their own to make a poker hand. The first three cards are referred to as the flop.

After the flop, there is a further betting round, starting with the player to the dealer’s left. After this betting round is finished, a fourth card is dealt face up. This fourth card is also a communal card. The four cards are called the turn.

Following the distribution of the fourth card, another betting round occurs, then a fifth communal card is dealt face up.

The final betting round then occurs, before the showdown, or final round. Remaining players reveal their cards, combining the cards in their hand with the communal cards to form a poker hand. The player with the best hand wins the game, and takes the money in the pot.

Online Gambling On the Up

Online gaming is improving all the time, with faster Internet speeds and better software and graphics.  For players wishing to participate in casino games via their computers or mobile devices, there are basically two options – web-based and download-based online casinos.

Web-based casinos are where gamblers play casino games on a website that offers different casino game options.  Fast Internet speeds and good bandwidth are needed, since all computer graphics and sounds are loaded directly from the Internet.  As a result, there are several mobile devices on which it would not be possible to play these types of games.

Download-based online casinos require the players to download software onto their computers or mobile devices in order to start betting online.  Playing this way usually means that the software runs faster, and the sensation a player gets is of a better quality as the graphics and sound are already located within the player’s computer, instead of having to be loaded from the web.  The disadvantage is that the software takes up memory on the player’s device.

With the phenomenal pace with which new technology is emerging, and with ever-faster broadband and Internet speeds, the online gambling experience can only get better.

Basics of Football Betting

Betting on the outcome of football matches is one of the most popular betting options on the planet. As with any other such game, it is important to be familiar with its rules and modes of play before putting up any cash.

As there are so many different types of leagues around the world, it is generally recommended that a newcomer to football betting concentrates at first on just the local or best known league and sticks to something like Champions League betting before branching out.

The better the punter understands the game, the more chance he or she will have of winning some money. Luck is involved, of course, as in all betting, but with football betting especially the odds can work better in your favour if you understand the form of the individual players and their relative strengths and weaknesses. This will also add to the excitement of watching the game as it unfolds.

As far as the informed sports bettor is concerned, football betting offers some of the most lucrative opportunities around. Bets can be made on the outright winner of the match and also, most profitably, on a draw occurring.

In contrast to other sports, plus-money lines feature in matches between teams that are similar in talent. The bettor can get value for money when betting on either the favourite or the underdog.

All sports bettors should take a look into the benefits of football betting because of its sheer profitability and excitement.

How to Play Roulette

Roulette is a game famous the world over. It is played in casinos across the globe, and has been glamorised in a number of very well known films. It is essentially a simple game of chance, which means that everyone can play, with no experience, skill or cunning required. Essentially, the game involves a small ball spinning in one direction around the rim of the roulette wheel as the wheel spins in the opposite direction. Eventually, the ball will come to rest in one of the 37 pockets that are within the wheel, and the number of the pocket becomes the winning number and colour for that spin.

The winning number can result in numerous winners. Not only do the people who correctly predicted the exact number win, but people can also bet on whether the winning pocket will be an odd or even number, or coloured black or red. You can also bet on whether the final number will be within a range of numbers.

There are a number of different betting options, and it is worthwhile spending some time on the many introductory sites on the Internet that not only explain the game thoroughly but also allow free play so that you can watch, learn and play before risking any money. The more technical bets concern the number ranges, and include ‘columns’ and ‘dozens’ which relate directly to the betting table that sits alongside the roulette wheel.

The game of roulette is a game of chance, but you can considerably increase your chances of winning with just a little homework and a full understanding of how best to spread your bets.

Casinos vs. Online Casinos

Gambling is very similar in online casinos to how it is in real-life casinos.  In both, customers gamble chips or money by playing games of chance, with predetermined and often complicated rules that set the odds.  In some cases, the games require an element of skill and understanding of the rules, such as blackjack or poker, and in other games a gambler places their wager, with the outcome of the game depending purely on chance – for example roulette and craps.

Latest technology and software, enables graphics and sounds to emulate real-life casino table games.  In addition, the odds of winning, and return percentages between the two, are similar – although many online casinos claim higher percentages for players when playing on slot machines online.  Casinos make their money because the games on offer slightly favour the casino.  This favourable variance is termed the ‘house edge’.  Poker is played by players against each other.  The casino, (or ‘house’), takes a commission on the games – called ‘the rake’.

There are often rules and etiquette regarding behaviour and dress in casinos.  Together with factors such as entry fees and membership issues, this has made gambling at online casinos a more appealing alternative for many.

Insurance in Blackjack

A common, but not universal, rule in blackjack is the option to insure against the possibility of the dealer having a blackjack pair. This is only relevant when the dealer’s face-up card is an ace. The effectiveness of this insurance is controversial, but in most cases, the player would be better off not buying it.

Insurance typically pays out at 2 to 1. For it to be worthwhile, the true odds have to be better than this. However, if you are ignorant of the distribution of cards in the deck, the best odds are 33 to 16. This is when you have no tens or royals in your hand, and so there are 33 non-ten value cards to 16 ten value cards. These odds worsen if you have ten value cards in your hand, as that is one or two less than what can turn up in the dealer’s hand.

Insurance is sometimes used when the player has blackjack themselves. As blackjack normally pays out at 3 to 2 unless reduced to a push by a dealer’s blackjack, insurance can be seen as useful, as it provides a guaranteed profit. This may seem beneficial if the player is only playing for a short stint, as blackjacks are rare; but if they play enough blackjack games, probability suggests the blackjack wins will make up for the risk of a push.

In general, insurance can be ignored. One exception is if the player is not ignorant of the distribution of the deck, for example, because of card counting. Now, insurance against a deck stacked with face cards can be valuable.
